I use the 970 with an HDMI cable to a Denon 3806. It was way cheaper than $800 for a Denon DVD player that uses "Denon-Link" to stream the DSD. The HDMI or Denon-Link is the only way you can get a digtal 5.1 stream to your receiver.

The downside to the HDMI (as many have noted) is that it converts DSD to 88kHz PCM.
