New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

Re: Thanks for checking in Mr. Bishop

I have all the Tierney Sutton SACD's, and they are all splendid recordings. Even in the ranks of audiophile-targeted SACD's, recordings of this quality are rare, and I enjoy them all. Thank you!!

I listen in 2-channel. It is interesting that you, as you put it, you are always trying something different. Because, these three recordings do exhibit somewhat different personalities, sonically.

"Something Cool" and "Dancing in the Dark" seemed at bit more intimate that the new recording, with the voice in somewhat sharper focus. Yet there don't seem to be as many spacial cues on these two records, in comparison to "On the Other Side," which images very well, with great depth and spread; yet, the voice is a bit less "located."

Is this an aspect of setup? Or equipment used?

Are these recordings live? Are the performers all playing to the same mic, or to multiple mic's? Are players positioned away from mic's to create imaging and depth?
