Any good electronic repair shop should be able to replace the chips for you. The questions are: are your chips good?; how long will they last?; is there anything else broken?; is the price of the repair worth it?
I wanted to send my player for an upgrade to Alex, but because I live close to Tampa we decided to send it there first, for a free chips replacement. Meantime, because of reliability problems, Alex stopped upgrading that player. Even thou he was the most capable person to fix it. I took it as the sign from above and invested in vinyl instead. I can service my analog gear myself. It is amazing that even an amateur can build a turntable better sounding than most digital machines.
If you listen to classical music like me, you will be happy; there are tons of classical LPs out there to have for close to nothing.
