****Just do not tell them, they digitally sourced****That's exactly what I was thinking. The draw to Lps are its analog roots. If an Lp is digitally sourced you hear all the weaknesses of the format (turntable, tone arm, RIAA equalization, cartridge, stylus) without its singular strength (sourced from an analog mastertape).
To be sure, Telarc found a way to make exceptionally good sounding digital sourced vinyl (I have 9 or 10 of them [the Orff: Carmina Burana & Hindemith:Symphonic Metamorphosis is the bomb]), but some of the worse vinyl in memory were those that were digitally sourced (such as were the first generation CDs that shortly followed).

- Clarification: It's the Hindemith that I really enjoyed. Carmina Burana was just OK. nt - Robert C. Lang 11:34:13 02/21/07 (0)
