Based on the receipt, Sony replaced the Spindle motor and the Laser Pickup along with a firmware update. I also had them clean and lube the Sled Motor, as it seemed to be laboring. It came back running as smooth as glass. All for the low price of $254 delivered.And yes, the CRT XBR is a great TV(best black levels I've ever seen), I have a friend that has the 32"(?) and he loves it. Only problem is it weights a ton(literally)!!
