1. Remove the three hexagon socket bolts from the mechanism deck cover. Remove the cover.
2. Slide the right slider towards the front of the machine and lift the loading assembly.
3. Push the tray assembly forward from either of the two rear wings. You will feel some resistance like gears turning. That's ok.
4. The tray assembly will come through the front slot with the DVD. Remove the DVD.This is an incredible player with the VSE mods. Unbeatable for the price. I saw a level 5 unit sell on Audiogon last week for $1500. I would have bought it for another system had I seen the ad sooner. You can send it the either VSE US rep. They can repair the unit and apply mods for a very reasonable fee.
I replaced the optical pick-up in my unit and ran the calibration programs yesterday (it was still playing CDs but no longer recognized SACDs). Works great now.
