I have owned my SA15S1 since June 2005 and I am quite satisfied with it both for SACD and RB performance.Even more so after a several hours spent last Saturday in a one-to-one comparison with a Mc MCD 201 (I was having a thought to change over to it).
I admit the MCD may have not been completely run in. Also, the MCD is more ready to skip over slight disc imperfections (due to its 4X/2X readout feature, I presume) and accepts Dual-Discs (which the SA15S is adamant in refusing). On the whole, I found the two at the same level (despite the remarkable price gap, approx 1,500 - 1,600 € to 3,800 - 4,000 € here in the EU).
Two only tweaking on my SA15S1 are TOAC feet plus two small packs of leadshot laid on the top panel to quench vibrations.
