The 8260 read cycle is thus, MC, stereo sacd, then cd. Cd's always take longer as the transport always looks for the sacd data first.
Disabling the mc board does not effect the stereo board at all.The early 8260's generated a fair bit of heat. Since my repair, this seems to have been alleviated. The repair I had done here was simple, maybe just the same 1k resistor as George's, and charge was only 100 AUD, including labor.
