Atleast on their DVD-As, this is how it seems to work:
Front L&R and rear L&R are same for 5.1 & 2+2+2
Then instead of front center & subwoofer, they have front top L&R. This signal comes from the center & subwoofer channel.
But, if you have a 5.1 system, one of the top speaker signal goes to your center speaker and the other goes to your sub! But since the signal to the sub has limited (or probably no) LF content the result is a 5.0 sound!Get their test disc and you'll figure it out.
BTW, does anybody know if this Haydn recording is in PCM or DSD and is it available as DVD-A?
