... as it had a good effect on single layer SACDs. Made the music sound cleaner and less gritty. I stopped applying it to all discs 5 years ago when I saw what it did to hybrids, leaving a cloudy surface.I was also alarmed to note it also leaves a flurry of light surface scratches on single-layer SACDs which you will be shocked to see under a strong light. Desipite how good it sounds, abrading my expensive SACDs is just not worth it. I have since sold away all my auric'ed SACDs and bought fresh clean versions to replace them.
Note I respect Audience a great deal. I have their Au24 speaker cable which provides the type of refreshignly clean, clear and natural sound that my system strives towards. If getting that extra resolution is more important to you than the physical condition of your SACDs, Auric is great to use on non-Sonopress hybrids and single-layer SACDs. I think Crest SACDs do not use the protective layer that SOnopress uses which reacts with Auric.
However, with the EMM Labs Optilink system that I use for data transfer, the remedial effect of Auric is probably not as significant.
