No. The SCD-1 and SCD-777 each use two different laser pickups whereas the cheaper players do not. Part of the long loading time is used for the machine to implement the correct laser. There are obvious advantages to this over a single laser that uses two different lenses.If you would like to believe your 9000 is superior, though, please go right ahead. But to call the SCD-1 and 777 buggy and claim subsequent machines use firmware which lowers the noise floor (!) is inaccurate.
