New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

I was about to write about my opinions on Getz/Gilberto

I have both the USA and Japanese sacds. They are quite different. Overall, the Japanese version has more top and bottom end. Especially at the beginning of the album, sibilants are very spitty on the Japanese version. Astrud Gilberto on the first cut is very forward on the American version almost sounding on the far right stage, but on the Japanese version she is very recessed and in a different acoustic environment, such as a sound booth. I think the American version has a more plausible sound stage but the Japanese version sounds somewhat more realistic.

I bought four other Jsacds by Verve but have not listened to them yet.
