I owned one and the sound is unbelievably analogue and un-digital! It was a major milestone in the development in quality of $4000 SACD players. The Philips drive they used was very problematic. Mine was replaced twice, with Mace and Furore updates and the drive still crashed. I had to replace it, sadly, due to the breakdowns.I hope that Krell is now using the new philips drive which is much more reliable.
