i found your review very useful. thank you for taking the time out to throughly review the players.it is really difficult to find a good sounding player on all formats- the only one that i have found to cover all formats is the marantz sa-12.
though i dont own one myself, i went with the sa-8260 ( 2 channel system only).it is pretty good though there are some quality control issues with servo/toc unit.
the marantz 12 can be found used for $1300 - $1500 used.
btw, i was at the ces and the most common digital source was the Phillips 1000. if you have a working phillips 1000, i think you are ahead of the game.
