Thanks for your suggestion, you kind of missed the point I was trying to make, I find most orchestral classical works on CD un-involving, most of them lack dynamic colour and contrast, yes you can partially compensate for that by increasing the volume but even then you cannot compensate for poor timing. Orchestral classical works are one of the areas where really SACD shines and I will frankly not waste my time or money buying a CD of an orchestral work except I am absolutely sure that the title is not available on SACD which is likely to be the case for many modern composers e.g. Phillip Glass. As DkB has said and I wholeheartedly agree, I can live with Pop and even some rock on CD but not orchestral classical music nor big band Jazz. Before I start investing in classical CDs, I hope to buy all the good SACDs I can find and since I am still a long off way from doing that, I shall be sticking with SACDs for now.
