I wouldn't be surprised if it was.A simple test: if any of the player's DSP functions are active during SACD playback, such as bass management, internal level contols, etc. the player is routing ***all*** signals through the pcm converter. If that's so, you are listening to SACD at no better resolution than what the internal pcm converter will allow. You are certainly not listening to DSD if that's the case and any comparison to CD is invalid. Theoretically they'll be the same or the SACD may be even WORSE because of the extra conversion step (DSD to pcm through the internal Sony SBM chip).
