As far as I'm concerned there is absolutely no comparison in sonic quality.
Classical SACD's (especially those from Pentatone, Channel Classics, Lyrinx, Fone, Northwest, Bona Nova), are fabulous. I never found ONE DVD-A that came close.
SACD have a smoothness and sweetness that is unmatched by anything but the best analogue.
DVD-A's are prone to much of the same "digititus" (glare, edginess, hardness) that regular CD's exhibit. I HATE it.
But, I suppose that some folks equate that kind sound with Hi-End fidelity. If so, they might prefer DVD-A's.GHM
