Home Hi-Rez Highway

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

I HAD both, but . . . .

65.32.118.192

. . . dumped my DVD-A player and disks after getting a Philips SACD1000 about seven months ago.
As far as I'm concerned there is absolutely no comparison in sonic quality.
Classical SACD's (especially those from Pentatone, Channel Classics, Lyrinx, Fone, Northwest, Bona Nova), are fabulous. I never found ONE DVD-A that came close.
SACD have a smoothness and sweetness that is unmatched by anything but the best analogue.
DVD-A's are prone to much of the same "digititus" (glare, edginess, hardness) that regular CD's exhibit. I HATE it.
But, I suppose that some folks equate that kind sound with Hi-End fidelity. If so, they might prefer DVD-A's.
