My band usually plays the Knitting Factory, and Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ. We used to play at the Cooler, but they are closed. We are also trying to get into Tonic. Tonic is a club that has experimental rock or jazz or electronic or free-form stuff almost every night. It's on Norfolk street, just above Delancey. You should check it out when you are in New York. My band (Hippoptamus) has been on hiatus in regards to live shows, due to working on an art grant (composing music for historical footage of Hoboken, NJ), but are getting ready to play out again. We did play at Lounge Axe in Chicago (RIP) three or four years ago, opening for Don Cabellero. You have a nice town there, I like it!
