I've been saying the same thing for years, at least since DVD-Audio's abortive first launch in the Fall of 1999. At this point, some two years on, I do not feel that DVD-A is the enemy (but the format still has not been perfected or even improved since its first appearance). I support high resolution in general. I predict that the two formats will co-exist. The real question is whether or not both can make significant inroads with non-audiophiles.I whole heartedly agree with your primary point. At this point, audiophiles should make decisions about any audio format based on sound quality, and SACD really does sound vastly superior to ANY other music format.
At this point I wish that audiophiles would shut-up, quit whining and sitting on the fence and embrace the very thing that we have always desired, a sonically and ergonomically superior music storage format that brings us that much closer to "live" music.
