Sound coming from the front with HPs.

Hi !
sorry for the weird question.
Yesterday i was watching a video on Youtube late at night
I normaly use headphones. In the specific case Akg k501 and Schiit Magni II amp directly connected to the tv rca outs.
Usually the sound is around my head but never coming from the front like with speakers and this is the most stressing experience with HPs.
Unexpectedly with that video at some point i got the feeling of sound coming quite from the front !
I do not attach the link because the content is political and this is against the rules of the forum.
Now the question ...

have you ever experienced sound coming from the front with HPs (without any form of eq or processing i mean) ?
In which occasion ? with which tracks ?
i have the strong feeling that has something to do with the design and construction of the mic.
