I used to have the LD 2+ and it was good. I upgraded the tubes and it was even better. Than when the LD MkIII came out, I decided to buy it. Soon after receiving it and listening to it, I sold the LD 2+. With the Sennheiser HD580's , the MKIII was an improvement over the 2+.
Since then, I've upgraded the tubes and power cord. This thing responds really well to tweaks like this.
Main system- Rotel RCD950/Topping D90, Schiit Freya+ (GE 6SN7GTB tubes), Rotel RB981, Magnepan 10QR, Martin Logan Dynamo sub
Headphone system- Little Dot MKIII, Sennhesier HD6xx & HD 580,
iFi iPhono, Technics SL1210 MK2, Denon DL103R
