I recently wanted an inexpensive pair of noise canceling headphones. I read a lot of negative reviews of cheap nc 'phones and auditioned some, which didn't sound good. Then I stumbled across the Nakamichi nc-40 headphones at a local Sears. They looked decent for $60 so I thought I would try them. I am quite satisfied with them so far. The noise canceling works and they sound quite good for $60. They seemed to be voiced to sound good with portable electronics or with the sound system on an airplane.
