AD/DA unit, impact in sound quality?

Hello,
I have always been intergued in the integrated digital cross-over solution ever since my engineering-student days. I am fascinated to finally see a product that implements the concept yet still has gotten great feedback from the audiophile community.

I can't help thinking that many audiophile are going to object to the addition of two extra digital stages in the equipment chain, seeing how so many are willing to spend thousands on interconnects and cables. I am sure that vinyl lovers would feel that having the signal pass through digital processing would defeat the whole point of going the analog route in the first place.

Does the CS2 use the digital processing only on the woofers or also on the tweeter/midrange unit? Would you say that the CS2 implementation is a case where any degradation due to the extra processing is more than counterbalanced by the benefits it brings by allowing for an open-baffle design with smooth frequency response and room placement flexibility? I would also be curious to know what the bit-rate of the processor is. Is the filter an FIR or IIR design?
