Thank you Clayton. Another, related question then:
What are the compromises if the speaker is NOT toed-in directly to the listening chair? I am wondering if a reduced amount of toe-in (say half) would "ruin" the sound.
I guess I am still coming to grips with the assertion that toe-in IS required AND there is not a narrow sweet spot. (apologies if I am mis-paraphrasing).
Also a room-related question: my room has an uneven wall behind the speakers, in that there is cabinetry up to about 30", then it recesses to the wall's plane (but there is still *some* cabinetry). Would my minimum three feet then be to the beginning of the cabs (which are 24" deep) or to the wall, or to some point in between, and would this 'staggered' wall be of any detriment? There is also a fireplace (about 6' wide) between these cabs.
TIA (thanks in advance) again.
