SET Amps or lower powered amps?

When I saw the 100dB sensitivity spec, initially thought of a budget amp set-up with the CS2. low powered SET, DIY Gaincard, T & D, etc. Others have mentioned that a SS amp is better and that more power is necessary.
(Than saw that they demo'ed w/ Bel Canto amps)
Any comments on actual successful amp setups is appreciated.
