Rectifier Arc Bad tube or something more?

Hi All,

I've been noticing some buzzing and pops on power up for the last week or so, and then saw today the rectifier tube arcing on power up. I replaced it and all seems well. The amp is used daily, and the rectifier was a Sovtek 5AR4 about 18 months old.

Am I safe in assuming the tube had simply reached the end of it's life? Or does the amp need to go down to the bench for a checkup?
