NEVER install a larger fuse than recommended, in the case of the SCA-35, a 2 amp slow blow.
"Testing" (even for "just a second") with a larger fuse (in your case, 13 amps larger!) can destroy your power transformer, output transformers, or both. Hopefully that hasn't already happened, since you posted that your capacitors went up in smoke.
Below is a link for the correct fuse. Radio Shack should have it in stock. If not, google Digi Key, or Mouser. You want a 2 amp, 250 volt slow blow fuse, 1 1/4" x 1/4".
Don't even go 0.5 amp larger than that. Save your equipment (and perhaps your house and yourself) from the dumpster. Don't destroy it in your enthusiasm to get it running. Take your time, and follow the advice of the people who are trying to help you. Follow it exactly.
