I'm rebuilding a pair of Mk 3's. The primary output transformer wires are very faded, so I took out my ohm meter to identify which is which .
I get 22 ohms from the center tap to each screen wire. I get 200 ohms across the two plate wires. But I get 128 ohms from one plate to the center tap and 72 from the other plate to the center tap. Resistance readings to the chassis are infinite.
When I placed a 1000 hz signal to the center tap and ground, the two plate wires measured the same.
Seems to me if I had a winding to winding short, it would show at 1000 hz just as it would in resistance.
I'm stumped.
Any suggestions?
