Links aren't OS specific... I didn't understand from your first post that you already had a link that you had had for days. If you only had it for a day or so I know from experience you can still use it to get a new torrent file. The message is just saying that a specific .torrent file is only good for about an hour, if you don't get your torrent started in that hour just click on the email link again to get another torrent file...

Anyway at worst like it says if you want a new link provide a new email address. (There are lots of free sources of email addresses out there.)
