I ordered some lps from Elusive back in March. One was slightly warped and I had several of my own warped records. Knowing they sell the Air Tight Record Flatter, I asked if they could flatten them. It took a long time but they came back. So...I had another 3 warped lps that I sent to them on 4/8, I believe. Without any notice to me, they sold their only Flatter and needed to wait until new ones arrive from Japan. Repeated promises and delays. I inquired again at the beginning of July, and I was assured the Flatters were coming soon. Still waiting, and by the way in included a generous payment/tip along with the lps.
So folks, please give me a reality check. I know sometimes the moment I complain, I need to eat my words because the situation resolves itself and I feel like a bully. After all, they're doing me a favor. But what kind of favor is it if it is never performed? I've been trying to console myself by thinking that the HiFi/lp business is quirky and you just sort of have to play along with it like one might do when a building contractor is late. Happens all the time. Still, if I were running their business, I don't think I would be so casual. Any ideas on what a reasonable expectation might be for getting this resolved? Any comments on that kind of "service?" Maybe I should just get the lps back and try to flatten them myself, otherwise I may be holding my breath forever?
Thanks, Audiohound
