The two new Everest DVD-A discs arrived in the mail today. I immediately played the Rite of Spring disc on the 24 bit/192kHz side. Ouch! The opening bassoon solo has a sag in pitch on the very first note, but it is very brief. I listened just enough to get a sense of the sound. It is three-dimensional and truthful in timbre. I will listen more carefully tonight and report back. I haven't played the Berlioz yet.
