Home DVD-Audiobahn

New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

this is a bit confusing, but. . .

. . .DTS is a company that makes the DTS compression technology and releases DVD-A discs and DTS-encoded CDs.

DTS-encoded CDs (and movie DVDs) will output via the analog jacks if the player has a DTS-decoder built-in. otherwise, your processor/receiver will have to do it via a digital connection.

a DTS DVD-Audio disc will ONLY output via the 6-analog jacks because you can't output DVD-Audio via a digital connection at full resolution.

i understand your confusion, and it lies in the fact not all DTS releases use DTS-encoding. they should have come up with a different name to release their discs.
