I have the Nine Inch Nails & Diana Krall (as well as Back in Black) DD releases and they are both 48/24 & sound great IMHO. The Universal releases also include videos, discreet stereo mixes & Dolby for non-DVDA players - as well as some other crap I haven't really looked at.

Priced the same as a CD or less, this format actually appeals to me, provided playing the CD side doesn't ruin my equipment ;) That said, I don't have the high end gear most others here have so, truth be told, the 48/24 ratio is not as great a degradation in overall sound quality from higher resolution material on my modest set-up.

I can see where others feel even the 48/24 stuff is an apocalyptic concession to the masses, but all things considered I'm OK with it. Now my position may change as I upgrade along the way to better equipment...
