I only wish the crossover was analog....No such luck. The Ref 30 crossover is digital.
The Ref 30 bypass mode (2 channel) and DVD-A mode (5.1 analog in)exclude all signal processing except for gain (which is done in the analog domain).
To reproduce vinyl with augmentation from the sub for example, I would need to allow the signal to be converted to digital by the internal A-D converter, let the system do its crossover processing, and then get it back to analog throgh its D-A converter. Sounds ugly dosent it?
The next option would be to forfeit the bass augmentation from the sub. With super ones you NEED the bass. They are fantastic little monitors, but sub 80 hz bass is not their strong point.
The last option would be to just poney up the cash and get the ICBM. It solves all the problems. Twist my arm a little more and.....
