Just got this the other day. This is the new release, stereo, 24/192 on one side and 24/96 on the other. I haven't heard this album for a long time. It is not one of my favorite Alan Parsons release. sound is terrific though surround 5.1 would make this much more interesting. Some have complained about the bass response in earlier masterings of this album, it's all good here.On an interesting note I seem to have problems with 24/192 stereo discs on my Pioneer DV-563. I get a crackling noise on these discs. I can take the stereo 24/96 layer and play it back on my Panasonic RP-91 via digital outs and get 96khz digital signal to my DAC. I am not sure if that is supported on DVD-audio. Perhaps that is why "I robot" is technically not a DVD-audio disc.
they have a 2 gold disc 20 bit master "Best of Alan Parsons" over at Best buy. I think this might be a better investment of 20 bucks.
