RE: Great Falcon LS3/5a Review by Paul Seydor

While the background info Seydor provided was interesting I thought he more or less trashed the LS3/5A in general when considered in a modern context. A summary might be: "The Falcon LS3/5A is a remarkably accurate reproduction of flawed and dated design with significantly colored sound and dynamic limitations. If that floats your boat, the Falcon is your speaker. But if you want accuracy, neutrality and improved dynamics, any number of current products at a similar price point simply blow it away: no contest."

I admit to a bias towards the LS3/5A. Just picked up a pair of the Rogers 15 ohm version for a nice price. Sound pretty much like I remember them from the past. Not perfect but definitely pleasing, esp on voice.
