OMG, that speaker measurement looks terrible. Without its supplemental tweeter it dies above 10 kHz. There's no disguising that. And look at that gigantic 10 db peak at exactly 60 hz. It's enough to make it really hummmmmmm. The averaged response in figure 5 masks the large number of peaks and dips seen in figure 3. Small wonder someone who likes this speaker would have no faith in measurements. On the other hand it's probably about 50 or 60 years old. Maybe it's just tired and worn out.

Didn't Peter Breuninger used to work for Stereophile Magazine? What happened there? Left for a new venture? I thought I'd read somewhere he was going to review an old restored pair of AR3as. Never saw it though.
