RE: Measurements vs. Reviewers

Hi,

You have to really see good designers at work to understand, but in a nutshell it's like this:

-- A lot is understood about how measurements correlate to sound
-- Modeling and measurements can get a designer most of the way there. No, not necessarily all, but most of the way
-- Using modeling and measurements is much quicker and more efficient than haphazardly grabbing at ideas out of thin air
-- Once you're most of the way there, you begin an iterative approach between measurements and listening until you have the thing exactly right

In a nutshell, if you didn't use modeling and measurements to design, you'd be haphazardly going at things, and you wouldn't get there nearly as quickly. All the good companies work this way.
