Going beyond just measurements

If you want to correlate the objective and the subjective there is really only one way...an appropriate model about humans hear and then using the data from measurements to populate that model and see how the DUT fits with what the model says is generally the best results for a human listener.

So, without some understanding about how the measurements relate to human responses there will always be a disconnect between the two...numbers are just numbers unless put into a meaningful human context.

I would love to see one of the magazines that measures take those measurements and apply a GedLee number to the DUT or Cheever's metric and then start trying to rank gear based on these metrics. It is only hopeless if known techniques are not utilized.
