RE: Perfect sound forever again?

I haven't heard the Devialet so I can't comment on that but characterizing it as a simple class D amp is not correct and the review sort of explains that. The full voltage swing for the signal is produced from a small Class A amp. The only thing the class D amp does is fill in the current. The claim is the signal does not come from the class D portion of the Devialet. This is certainly an interesting use of class D. Hopefully it works well. This is similar to the Quad 405 where the voltage gain is also from a class A amp but the current comes from a class B amp.
