It happens

Looking over some of my old mags before putting them out in the recycle, I came across a couple of issues where John Marks in a short time period received TWO different speakers -- a Fried model and some LS3/5 clone -- with one driver wired in incorrect polarity! JA measured and found the telltale deep nulls at crossover frequency in the on-axis response.

But then there were a couple of speaker reviews (sorry, don't remember the brands) that showed the same sort of nulls, yet NOBODY drew the obvious conclusion or tried reversing the polarity on one driver to see if that corrected the problem! I mean, c'mon, that's such an easy catch!
