Readers are quick to criticize reviews in which there is not full disclosure of all the details of the test system context and rightly so. In the context of an amplifier or speaker review, cables are support and ancillary but essential.
However, the reviewer is pulled in two directions when comparing a product under test with competitors. The more "scientific" direction is to compare with everything else in the system maintained constant. The other is to optimize, as much as possible, the performance of each product by switching support devices (like cables). Surely, the reader would like to know about the latter, as well.
