the CDs just donthavi it. the SACDs are a different story.

my theory is that the soundstream system is (was) inherently musical and without 'dumbing down' to 44.1/16 it passed along that musicality. the same goes for many another digitally recorded piece released on LP. dire straits 'bors in arms' and jenny's 'famous blue raincoat'.
