Maybe it's not all the manufacturer's fault but could there be some part suppliers turning the screws? Someone is and I will not be one of the ones fleeced! I am sorry if this causes me to loose you to loose creditability in your eyes. BUT WHEN SOMETHING IS THIS IMPORTANT I WILL NO REMAIN SILENT!
For instance: I have read $100 monster cable has $20 build cost, versus $1,000 monster cable having a build cost of $22. So with $2 additional cost why is one $900 more than the other? Sound quality. The right thing to do would be to would be to raised the $100 cable to $110 and add the sonic benefit derived from the additional parts cost of $2 and not offer the $1,000 cable at all but they know some audiophiles are gullible.
All I am saying is the price of super high equipment and cables is based on "sound quality" and not cost. This is something you should be able to deduce yourself by the way.
Just my experiences and opinions, yours may be different,
Teresa
