The GE award sure does seem, at this point, and thanks to this issue being "clarified" by JV and TM, to be a petard in a typhoon.

Meanwhile, my opinion of the importance of TAS in the "opinion industry" has dropped considerably due to JV's activities. I still think there are some excellent writers there - Anthony Cordesman, Jacob Heilbrunn, Don Saltzman and the irreplaceable HP, to name a few - but it seems that there is an impenetrable triumvirate calling all the shots there, and it seems that JV is the one in the long white hat.
