1. Golden Ear Award = Stuff That Made Us Say Woo-Hoo Award. They may not be able to use that "woo-hoo" part if Washington Mutual has found a way of trademarking it. ;~)
2. It was done to stimulate newsstand sales and discussion. Just look at all of the increased activity on their site!
I don't think JV was acting in a vacuum. I suspect we are more in agreement than not, we are merely pointing our fingers at different root causes.
