I think that there is a fairly large difference between commercial products being improved and updated vs. a hirsute DIY prototype loudspeaker from a manufacturer not otherwise engaged in loudspeaker sales living in the inner-sanctum of a high-profile reviewer for over half-a-year ... and undergoing still further evolutions whilst in that reviewer's care. Further still, that this unholy cauldron of interspecies coitus results in the reviewer awarding the frankenspeaker his magazine's highest honor. While you may have some issues with the TAS of old, and HP in particular, and while you have raised some interesting and even some hair raising points about your experiences there ... two wrongs don't make a right, and I really believe that Tom Martin really wants his magazine to have credibility and for it to have earned the trust of his readership.
I started this unfortunate melee with JV just to try to get him to admit that he may have been a little hasty in exalting an unvetted non-product among products that HAVE been fully developed and commercialized, and that by doing so he simultaneously thumbed his nose at the real products and indicated that ... by the magic of his blessing alone ... there is a shortcut to Glory.
