But different areas have different methodologies. Intellectual biases can be reduced, for example, as far as one knows them, though intellectual history shows each age has had prejudices it is not much aware of. But just knowing the bias may not change ingrained habits and feelings. That takes some effort and practice.
But with perceptual bias, knowledge is not enough and effort to change is not enough, though one can remove some of the causes (i.e., level matching) and for others, one can remove their effects (hence, DBTs).
