No doubt the Continuum issue is different than the Prototype/Valin issue. I do not think that is the point the poster is making, though. I think the point the poster is making is that at the time Michael Fremer reviewed the Continuum, that product was apparently covered neither by Stereophile's required number of dealers rule, nor their exception of being available direct from the manufacturer with a full refund within the specified time period, less shipping costs. And yet, despite not satisfying either the rule or the exception, the magazine published the review nonetheless.

While the Continuum may have been, and apparently was, a bona fide product, the question I think he raised was whether (1) the Continuum was available from five dealers, which the answer seems to be no, and then, (2) moving to the exception, was it available direct from the manufacturer subject to a return within 30 days, less shipping costs, which, from the apparently very limited production, the answer I also assume to be no.

His next question is then likely to be that if certain products such as the Continuum are given a pass from the "Requirements to be Given a Full Test Report" in Stereophile, why was not the Magico given a similar pass.

Or, at least that is what I think his posts have been about.
