What is it worth to me to try something before I buy? Enough that, since I live in a hi fi desert with the nearest decent dealer 2 hours away, and since I was desperate to try stuff, I became a reviewer for Stereophile. Just so I could listen. And I still don't get to hear as much equipment as I want to.

So where are you located? I see you are in south Florida. I grew up in the Ft. Pierce/Jensen Beach area (which is not exactly south; more south-central). Used to shop at a little place in a strip mall on U.S.1 called the Sound Shack. Bought my first speakers there around 1980--Polk model 7B's. I was 1. Still got 'em.
